Kirschen “TeX” Wolford
Kirschen “TeX” Wolford is a Dallas‑born, multi‑hyphenated artist whose work spans performance, storytelling, music, and creative collaboration. A graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, he went on to earn his BFA in Acting from the University of the Arts, grounding his craft in both classical training and contemporary practice.
TeX has performed on a national children’s theatre tour and continues to bring dynamic, character‑driven work to the stage. Recent credits include Stage Black: New Plays Festival directed by Crislyn Fayson, An Oak Cliff Carol directed by Jiles King, and a featured opening monologue performance at the 7th Annual Irma P. Hall Awards. Additional stage work includes An Octoroon at the Wilma Theater starring James Ijames and The Brothers Size, also directed by Ijames.
During his time in Philadelphia, TeX was nominated for three Barrymore Awards, winning one in 2015—an early recognition of the depth and versatility he brings to his craft.
Throughout his artistic journey, he has also acted in independent films and expanded his creative footprint as a composer and sound designer, scoring original plays and films in both Dallas and Philadelphia. His multidisciplinary approach reflects a deep commitment to storytelling in all its forms.
Rooted in community and driven by a love for bold, human stories, TeX continues to build a body of work that reflects his voice, his heritage, and his evolving artistry. And to all the kids with a dream — anything is possible.
