Peter Erickson, singer/songwriter & SWAN member, has performed original songs with the bands he has been with over the years. He recently won top honorable mention after entering the 2017 Woody Fest song writing contest. He was with local band Chateau with Dean Brown now with the Mystery Dates & Phil McKinzey now with the Flatiron Refugees. During college, he played in Edmond based band, Excalibur with Jerry Dale McFadden now with the Mavericks and Brian Lynn Jones now with the Misfit Cowboys. Next, he joined up with singer/guitarist Mark McClellan to form Officer 67 and wrote many more songs, producing an album with Mark, Darla Miller on backup harmonies and Frank Lawrence with studio production. Erickson’s early musical influences were from live performances of traditional country/bluegrass players of the SE Missouri area. He later discovered Neil Young, Cat Stevens, Crosby Stills & Nash, James Taylor, Stevie Ray Vaughan to name a few, that contributed to his writing styles.
