Israeli born guitarist, singer, and songwriter Bat-Or Kalo has beguiled U.S. audiences since first performing in the U.S. in 2004, and she continues to impress with her latest project, KALO, the rock, pop, and R&B tinged blues band she’s fronted since 2012 with bassist Mack McKinney. Drummer Mike Alexander joined the band in 2015.
Bat-Or’s unique history lends to a distinctive sound that’s been enthralling audiences from Oklahoma City to New York, Austin to Mississippi, and many places in between. In 2009, she released her first album, “Flesh and Bones,” recorded at Bardo Recording Studios near Tel Aviv. Inspired, she made a move to New York City where she honed her skills as a musician.
She reconnected with longtime friend McKinney in 2012, and moved to Oklahoma City to record her sophomore album, “Dear John,” at Studio Seven. The album was released in October 2013.
